Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organization (ENPO) has expressed pain over the “unfortunate incident” that occurred September 11 at ITC (Dan) Pangsha under Noklak sub-division. ENPO through its media cell stated that the Assam Rifles command post came under attack and almost caused civilian casualties of the neighbouring areas by armed elements reportedly due to indiscriminate firing and explosions from across the Indo-Myanmar border. ENPO said whether it was accidental or otherwise, such extremely unfortunate incident was beyond tolerance. ENPO also reaffirmed to stand by the December 18, 2007 Tuensang resolution, wherein the public of Eastern Nagaland was deeply opposed to any form of arm conflicts and violence within its jurisdiction. ENPO reiterated its appeal to all armed people to maintain peace and tranquillity, and to honour the same in the interest of peace in the region.
