NCRC conducts prayer and word retreat prog

The NCRC Women Elder’s Ministry Nagaland held the first all tribes NCRC women’s one-day prayer and word retreat on September 16 at Niathu resort, Nousi auditorium, Chumukedima.
A press note by NCRC Women Elder’s Ministry co-convenor, Nini Sekhose stated that resource persons for the retreat were Nini Sekhose, pastor, Garden Mission CRC, and chairman, Little Star Hr. Sec. School Dimapur; Anungla Aier, ex-president Ao CRC women’s association, Mokokchung division; Temsurenla Moa, director St. John’s Hr. Sec. School and college and Dr. Nighatoli Kiho, women pastor, Sumi NCRC, Kohima. 
Nini Sekhose spoke on the theme, “stepping into such a time as this”, wherein she said that Jesus had came and stood up for the weak and the helpless. He empowered women through his actions and speech and He did not discriminate between gender, she added. 
Nini said that Mary Magdalene as the first evangelist had nothing to do with her gender but only her heart. Nini also stressed that the headship of the man should be used to empower, just as Jesus used His headship to empower His bride, and made her glorious and radiant.  Anungla Aier, spoke on the topic “in touch with the times” and expressed that laws and practices which were passed down verbally and which were detrimental to women, have to be reviewed.  Temsurenla Moa, spoke on the duties and privileges of motherhood and she gave several questions to the women and provided the answers too.
Dr. Nighatoli Kiho spoke on the topic “women in church ministry” where prejudices against women in traditional priesthood roles should be done away with as today “we” live in a time where every believer was a king and priest before God in accordance with the original desire of God. 
Rev. Dr. Neikeduozo Paphino, president, NCRC opened the retreat with a morning devotion from the life of Mary Magdalene. Kaholi Piketo Achumi, convenor, NCRC WEM gave the welcome address and also vote of thanks at the closing service.
Songs were presented by NCRC Sumi, Dimapur Town Church, led by Tokheli Assumi, president NCRC Sumi Women Association, Angami CRC, Dimapur City, led by Neichunuo. Leshelemi singers from Sumi NCRC, Purana Bazar, Lotha Women Association CRC, led by Phyodani, president. Chakhesang CRC Women Association led by Kesono, president, from Phek district and also the NCRC Sumi Women Association, past and present office bearers, led by Tokheli Assumi, present president..
Rev. Bulechu and Rev. Dr. Shiwoto attended the closing programme and blessed the congregation with invocation and benediction respectively.The organisers also thanked all the participants, well wishers and Cross Connection team. 120 participants from 20 churches all over Nagaland attended the retreat. The event was moderated by Lovily Vito Chishi, Dr. Pangersenla and Shiyetoli K. Awomi.
