
Coming hard on the present Nagaland government, MLA Yitachu has termed the government as “party-less and unconstitutional” adding that “Neiphiu Rio-T.R. Zeliang party” was in trouble despite claiming majority.
Addressing NPF party workers in Wokha on Tuesday, NPF Wokha district in-charge, Yitachu vowed to fight against the dissidents to save NPF party and also to safeguard the future of the Nagas.
Claiming that Rio-TR “party-less government was “dying”, he said they were in a situation where they have to decide “whether to die in the hospital or at home”.
He said the “party-less” government was “desperate” and therefore was fighting to take over NPF but asked the party workers not to worry as Rio-TR would never have any claim over NPF party.
Narrating the sequence of events that led to NPF crisis, he said Urban Local Bodies (ULB) election was the main reason behind the crisis. He accused the chief minister, T.R. Zeliang, Nagaland governor, P.B. Acharya and BJP party of being “double standard”. The MLA also accused Zeliang of having made a “secret pact” with BJP with an intention to join NPF legislators to it.
Asserting that Constitution of India was blatantly violated in formation of the present government, Yitachu said “our special rights under Article 371A have no guarantee under such leaders who has scant regard for the rule of law.”
Further, the MLA also called upon all party workers to start identifying fresh candidates for 2018 assembly elections, saying “We will continue to remain as NPF and will continue to issue NPF tickets.”
During the meeting, representatives from various assembly constituencies and division/central addressed the house. COB vice president and in-change Wokha Division, Tsumongo Ovung, also spoke on the occasion. The meeting was chaired by general secretary NPF Wokha division, Manthungo Kikon and NPF Wokha, president, Mhonthung Patton delivered welcome address. The MLA was accompanied by NPF central leaders.
