Nagaland to host 4th North East Indigenous Festival

Nagaland will be hosting the 4th North East Indigenous Music Festival on October 6 and 7 which will bring together some of the renowned and upcoming indigenous and folk fusion artistes in the region.
With very less avenues for indigenous musicians to express themselves and take their artistic talents to a higher level, the festival is solely projected at promoting and encouraging such artistes. Not just that but the festival is also intended to play as an awareness programme on the changing trend of genres,  
flexibility of modern technical advancement in the field of music, modernization of indigenous music and adaption of indigenous musical instruments in modern musical trends and to empower indigenous musicians and bands of the North East all the while giving them a good platform in a professionally organized event.
The two days of festival will be scheduled to fit in gaining, sharing of experiences and performance in various ways to  
On the first day, a workshop, interaction and jam session for the North East Artistes will be held from 2 pm at Abiogenesis Centre, Nuton Bosti. Another objective of the session will be to form a North East Indigenous Artistes Network so that the unique art forms of the region can be taken to a higher level collectively not only in the region but even in the global scene. Dressed rehearsals will be held at IMC Hall in the evening.
The second day will see a very strong line up at IMC Hall, Dimapur from 5.30 pm featuring seven renowned artistes and bands from the region. They are: Summersalt – a folk fusion band from Meghalaya who has been featured in the bollywood film Rock On 2, Jambili – a folk fusion band from Assam, Imphal Talkies – a six member folk rock band from Manipur, Atso Chasie : who is a first prize winner at National Classical Guitar Competition ‘AXE POWER 2013’ who will be performing with Choseo Tetseo, Ragamuffins: a folk fusion band from Assam, Jano Nyeka from Nagaland, who’s own original song ‘Aahoh’ won the award for the Best Folk Fusion at India’s  Indie Awards, the Radio City FM Freedom Awards 2017 and Abiogenesis – the folk fusion band from Nagaland, which is the only band in Nagaland to have received the Governors award for distinction in folk fusion music. Sholo Thong, the frontman of Gluttones will be the host.
The festival is organized by Abiogenesis Society with support from North East Council, Ministry of DoNER, Shillong. Artist Aloud as Digital Promotion Partner, Asian News International (ANI) for international news coverage and Doordarshan Kohima Kendra for live recording telecast.
