KPU threatens to intensify stir

November 1, 2017 | by admin

Second day of Kandi Public Union (KPU)’s phase-I agitation, a 42-hour total bandh along NH-2, went off peacefully, but the union has threatened to intensify the protest by launching phase-II agitation from November 20, 2017 if the government continued to remain silent.
KPU called for bandh to protest against delay in construction of the BDO office for RD Block Chunlikha under Tseminyu sub-division. The foundation stone of the office was laid in February 2012 and contract work was awarded in November 2016.
KPU through its publicity cell cautioned that second phase would be indefinite total bandh along NH-2. Meanwhile, the union has expressed regret for the inconveniences caused to all the commuters and travellers along NH-2 during the ongoing bandh, particularly to those who were attending Church, wedding and funeral programmes. It has also appealed to the citizens to extend solidarity and support toward the genuine cause of the area.
