
Ex-servicemen were lauded for their immense contributions and services in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the society while in service.
Addressing ex-servicemen during Assam Rifles ex-servicemen rally cum medical camp on Friday, at Kahirman Basti, commissioner of police Dimapur, Limasunep Jamir, said uniform service was not an easy job and that men and women in uniform have to face many challenges. He said the most significant service of the men and women in uniform was maintaining peace in the society.
Jamir said the contribution and the sacrifices of ex-servicemen were therefore praiseworthy and that they should be proud of being in a service that strived to maintain peace.
Calling upon ex-servicemen to inculcate good discipline in their children, Jamir hoped that their children would also inherit good discipline, honesty and integrity and become a good citizen of the nation.
He also urged the ex-servicemen to take advantage of the facilities provided for them. Jamir also assured to address any issues in regard to the civil department and police department in Dimapur.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by 6 sector (AR) commander.
The day also witnessed presentation of gifts to veer naris and veer bahadur. Different stalls such as banking, medical counters and grievances cell etc. were set up for the ex-servicemen pensioners.
