SEWA observes Street Vendors Day

Self Employed Women Association (SEWA) supported by North East Network (NEN) observed International Street Vendors Day on Tuesday at High School Junction, Kohima. On the occasion, local vendors put up diverse organic food products for sale.
Talking to reporters, programme manager of NEN Wekoweu Tsuhah said the event was aimed to make women street vendors visible in the state besides raising issues faced by the street vendors. 
The same event will also be held in Dimapur and Mokokchung on November 15, she added.
In Kohima, the members of SEWA comprise of street vendors, weavers and farmers.
