NVBDCP conducts one-day refresher trg for officials

The National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) conducted one-day refresher training for assistant malaria inspector, senior malaria inspector, malaria inspector and surveillance inspector at the directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima on March 6. 
A press release by NVBDCP stated that a total of 79 trainees would be trained from 11 districts in three batches from March 6 to 8 on roles and responsibility of AMO, SMI, MI and SI, RDK test/microscopy quality assurance in malaria diagnosis, treatment /new drug schedule and initiatives, monitoring and supervision format, role of IEC/BCC activities of NVBDCP, recording and reporting formats. 
It stated that key note was delivered by state programme officer, NVBDCP, Dr. Avino Metha, wherein she informed the trainees that their active participation and hard work was of utmost importance as they were the senior most field workers under the NVBDCP. She instructed them to maintain a list of villages under their respective districts and also prepare a list of hard to reach areas, urban slums etc which would aid them in undertaking their supervision activities effectively. She requested them to work in co-ordination with the field workers under them and to supervise malaria blood slides/RDT taken and treatment being provided to patients as well. She also stressed on the importance of sensitising the community on facilities available in the government health units.
