The 2nd phase of training for polling personnel in Mon District has been scheduled for May 18 (presiding officers & 1st polling officers) and May 19 (2nd, 3rd and 4th polling officers) from 10 a.m at Mon Town Council Building. The 3rd phase (final phase) of trainings will be held on May 24 and 25, same time and venue.
Thavaseelan K, Deputy Commissioner Mon through a press release said that the final round of training for sector magistrates is scheduled for May 23 at 11 a.m at DC’s Office Conference Hall, Mon while the final round of training for webcasting operators at 2 p.m, same time and venue.
The 1st and 2nd rounds of training for micro observers will be held on May 18 and 24 respectively at 11 a.m at DC’s Office Conference Hall, Mon. The report stated that stringent action will be initiated against absentees including filing of an FIR under relevant sections of election law.
Form 12A (Application for Election Duty Certificate) for all polling duty personnel registered as voters in Mon District is being issued from May 15 to May 21 at EDC Cell, 1st Floor of DC Office, Mon. Filled Form 12As along with photocopy/Xerox of duty list/requisition order (for drivers) and Govt ID Card will have to be submitted to EDC Cell on or before 2 p.m on May 21. EDCs will be issued between May 24 and 27, 2 p.m. Applicants have been requested to ensure that names, part and serial numbers tally with the electoral roll. Forms filled incorrectly are liable to be rejected.
The Deputy Commissioner has also informed all vehicle owners, whose vehicles have been requisitioned for by-election duty in Mon district, to present their vehicles at Local Ground, Mon Town at 10 a.m on May 24 without fail. Stringent action will be initiated against defaulters under relevant sections of election law, the report stated.
