ACAUT on Monday claimed that a certain person of “dubious character” was impersonating a core member/lawyer of the body and had been lying and bragging, frequenting government departments, offices and institutions.
In this regard, ACAUT clarified that its only officially designated legal advisor and advocate was K Savi, a core ACAUT member. Besides Savi, it said advocate/lawyers including CT Jamir, Zhekheli and NM Jamir were representing ACAUT in specific cases. ACAUT, therefore, cautioned departments and the public that other than its official lawyer, anyone posing or claiming to be an advocate for ACAUT was a fraudster and needed to be exposed.
Further, clarifying that it had not authorized any lawyer or core-member to issue threats to departments, ACAUT cautioned the departments against such fraudsters maligning ACAUT’s reputation.
