
KROS College department of history organized a one day state level seminar on July 21, at the college under the theme “Preserving the Past: The role of Oral Tradition in Naga History”.
A press release issued by KROS College Kohima vice principal Keliihol Tase, stated that the objective of the seminar was to promote and preserve the heritage of Naga History, which has been handed down orally.
The keynote address was delivered by the special guest, capital college Kohima vice principal Dr. Zokho Venuh, where he spoke about surveying and potentially identifying sites through the information available from oral tradition.
The paper presenters were Chubatoshi, asst. prof. KROS College, research scholar. Dept. of History & Archaeology, N.U; Tovikali Yeptho, asst. prof. Japfu Christian College, research scholar, Dept. of History & Archaeology, N.U; Kedivonu Kharutso, research scholar, Dept. of History & Archaeology, N.U; and Avulu Resuh, asst. prof. Dept.of History, KROS College.
According to the press release, the seminar was a revelation for all present and it validated the fact that Naga History could be written down with oral tradition as the source and with archaeology validating the truth.
The chairperson of the program was M. Teithuvi Zho of B.A 3rd semester, welcome speech delivered by Keluhol Tase, vice principal KROS College and later vote of thanks was delivered by Kevilezo Kiewhuo of B.A 1st semester.
