EPCH delegates visit Vietnam

A high level delegation of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) visited Vietnam from May 18-21 to understand the traditional skills and craftsmanship with usages of technology in making high quality crafts in Vietnam.

A press release by EPCH stated that the delegation comprising of EPCH director, R.K. Verma, COA members-EPCH, Rajesh Jain and Zesmina Zeliang and other prominent member exporters of EPCH from Moradabad, Agra, Khurja and North Eastern Region was led by development commissioner, Shantmanu.

The release quoted EPCH director general, Rakesh Kumar, who stated that the techniques of manufacturing crafts in Vietnam were very peculiar, high quality and cheaper than anywhere in the world.

Vietnam has traditional skills like India but more competitive in nature and have greater market share in comparison to India, stated the release.  

During the visit, EPCH delegation met deputy director general, Ministry of Industry & Trade, Agency for Regional Industry & Trade, Vietnam Hoang Chinh Nghia, and also called upon H.E. Ambassador, Embassy of India in Vietnam, Parvataneni Harish, and discussed the purpose of the visit and way forward for Indian handicrafts exporters. 

 A meeting with deputy president of Vietnam Association of Craft Villages (VICRAFTS], and EPCH MOU partner in Vietnam, Trinh Quoc Dat, was also held during the visit.
