
Mega skills and job fair organised by district administration in collaboration with Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship was held at council hall, Mon on May 28.
According to DIPR report, Thavaseelan K, DC Mon in his keynote address stated that Konyak tribe was one of the largest tribe in Nagaland but many youths were unemployment and jobless. He added that government has reached it employment saturation point and the fair was an alternative opportunity for job in various field. He also added that in every job, starting salary may be low and depending upon the performance it may go higher, therefore he urged trainees to be specific and reliable to take the opportunity.
R. Tsalise Sangtam, deputy director Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship requested the training partners to take extra care and work patiently in order to give the opportunity and development in the district.
Representative from Colour Nations, Emporium Training, Indianeer Media Pvt Ltd, Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, Karner Organic Pvt Ltd, Learn To Earn, Make Over Academy, National Institute of Professional Studies, Pinacle Skills, Skills Alli, TBL Education, TK Skills, TUSTI foundation and Youth Net spoke through power point during the occasion. President KNSK, Lomei Konyak, principal ITI, Er. Alongse also spoke during the occasion. More than 800 (eight hundred youths) registered on the spot during the mega camp. Training partners also set up a counselling table and took spot registration in various fields.
SMC, Aizuto: Job fair for Christian youths was held in Aizuto, Sumi mission centre (SMC) under the aegis of Youth-Net Nagaland in collaboration with SBAK youth department from May 24 to 25. A press release from Sumi Baptist Churches Association (SBAK) media cell stated that, during the orientation, SBAK executive secretary Rev. Mulato Chishi encouraged the youth to be consistent in their faith by trusting God’s plan and be obedient and faithful in whatever profession or vocation God has called them. The main objective behind the event as shared by Youth secretary SBAK, Inakhu Chishi, also the moderator gave a brief objective of the job fair orientation. Hutoni Shohe, HR executive Youth Net and Tsepila Zhimomi, supervisor NJC NCDC Youth Net spoke about the avenues of job opportunity available in private sector. Kivi Awomi, counsellor and Jesse Chishi, consultant spoke about the training procedure and job placement in hospitality and Spa industry. 214 youths attended the job fair and were registered for the job in private sector subject to availability. Closing prayer was offered by SBAK literature secretary, Picuto Yeptho.
