
State-run oil marketing companies on Tuesday hiked petrol prices by 4-8 paise for the sixth successive day across major cities of the country while diesel prices, on the other hand, were raised by 4-7 paise.
In Delhi, petrol prices rose to Rs 70.51 a litre on Tuesday while diesel price climbed to Rs 64.33 per litre.
In Dimapur, the retail price of petrol price was increased by 9 paise to Rs 68.57, from Rs 68.48 recorded on Monday. A litre of diesel costs Rs 62.21 per litre, 11 paise higher than yesterday’s rate of Rs 62.10 a litre. In Kohima, following Tuesday’s hike, petrol was retailing at Rs. 69.26 per litre while diesel was priced at Rs. 62.75 per litre.
Oil marketing companies review fuel prices on a daily basis, and any revisions are implemented at the fuel stations with effect from 6 am. The domestic fuel prices are determined broadly by the global crude oil and rupee-dollar forex rates.
