Community awareness programme, jointly organised by Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), District Level Centre for Women (MSK) and Sakhi-One Stop Centre (OSC) in collaboration with department of Social Welfare Peren was held at Tening town on August 22.
A press release from PMMVY district coordinator, Keyizieteing Ndang stated that, Heiriateilei, women welfare officer, MSK Peren highlighted the various schemes that are provided by department of Social Welfare for the development/empowerment of women. Grace Newmai, counselor, Sakhi-OSC, Peren highlighted the rights of women and the various other facilities they provide to help women. Sidibo, programme assistant, PMMVY, Peren District Cell, highlighted the PMMVY scheme and cleared misconceptions about the scheme. Yanbeni CDPO Tening also highlighted about Poshan Abhiyan and the aims and objectives of the nutrition mission.
An interactive session was conducted where the doubts of the public regarding various schemes was also clarified in the programme chaired by Yanbeni CDPO Tening. A total of 54 participants from various villages under Tening ICDS project took part.
