Skill development on recent advances in aquaculture held in Wokha

Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Wokha district conducted training/skill development programme on “recent advances in aquaculture” under National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) from November 13 to 14 at the training hall, district fisheries office (DFO), Wokha. 

A press release by DFO Wokha Sentinaro stated that, technical staff of Wokha district fisheries office trained the participants on freshwater carp, integrated fish farming practices and composite culture. District fishery officer (DFO) Sentinaro highlighted on processing, value addition and reservoir development management along with practical demonstration on various culture management aspects. 
Participants were also enlightened on several schemes under NFDB which provide subsidy assistance for entrepreneurs and provide employment opportunities for rural youth. Department is making all efforts for optimum utilization of available resources and for promotion of fish culture in the state. 
Altogether fifty participants comprising of fish farmers, SHGs and blue revolution beneficiaries attended the three-day long training programme.
