Excise NC seize suspected heroin

Excise Narcotic Cell (NC) enforcement duty party manning the inter-state check gate at Khuzama on October 6 seized 240 grams of “suspected” heroin and arrested one person. In a press release, deputy commissioner of Excise NC, S Chanlei Angh stated that in this connection one person identified as Kone Mary (45) daughter of Danii Kone and resident of Naga Bazaar, Kohima was arrested and sent to judicial custody. Angh said the arrested person was booked under relevant section of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985 and that the case was under active investigation. The duty party was led by AIE, Nokcha, head constable Anglong , constables – Kamnei, Kiyakhrielie, Tokaho, Azily and lady constable Merela.
