Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni, SM, VSM, general officer commanding 3 Corps visited Kohima on July 6. He was accorded a traditional welcome at HQ IGAR (N) and was received by Brig R P S Mann, Officiating IGAR (N). The GOC on his maiden visit to the state called on state chief minister Neiphu Rio and state governor Nikhil Kumar.
The general officer had discussion on the prevailing security situation and development projects with the CM and governor. The general officer during his visit to HQ IGAR (N) was briefed about the present security situation prevailing in the State.
In an address to all ranks of Assam Rifles, he lauded the services rendered by the Assam Rifles. He also said that the prevailing peace situation should be improved and better development take place than ever before.
He said the life of common man was more important than anything and said the security forces should work in synergy with the civil government to have lasting peace in the State.
