Employees of DRDA Kohima, who claim to have not been receiving salaries and wages since February 2021, have called for a “total shutdown of office”. Employees of DRDA Kohima, in a press release issued through deputy project director, said that the matter has been communicated to higher authority several times in the form of appraisal and representations.
However, the employees said that they have not received any response from the department (rural development). The aggrieved employees, therefore, said they arrived at a decision to call for a “total shutdown of office” with effect from November 16 in protest against nonpayment of salary for the past nine months. The employees affirmed that the agitation would continue until all the pending salaries and wages were cleared in full. They also expressed regret for inconveniences caused to the general public in transaction of official matters.
