
Vegetable farmers under Dimapur district have been asked to maintain records of their farming activities so that the department can evaluate their work and assist them accordingly.
District Horticulture Officer Dimapur (DHO), Temsu Longkumer asked this of vegetables farmers while distributing summer vegetables seeds under MIDH scheme 2017-18 to six selected villages under Dimapur on Saturday.
The villages were- Bade, Khughovi, Zani, Veyito, Seithekima ‘A’ and Seithekima ‘C’. The DHO also reminded the villagers that non-performing villages would be blacklisted and replaced with some other village.
He also said that the department would also carry out surprise inspections to ensure that the farming activities were being carried out properly.
He encouraged the farmers to work harder by judiciously utilizing the tools and seeds provided by the department.
Earlier, the department had also conducted a demonstration on cultivating summer vegetables seeds.
