PHED department Wokha division organised a training on skill development for villagers under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) support activity on December 2.
According to a DIPR report, executive engineer, PHED Wokha, Imnazulu Ao said the training was organised with an aim to equip stakeholders on various related trades to ensure the sustainability of water supply infrastructure.
He urged the stakeholders to take proper responsibility of the operation and maintenance of water supply infrastructure once the projects were completed and handed over to them.
Theoretical and practical session on the use of equipment and tools on four trades such as plumbing, masonry, electrician, welding and training on water testing kit were imparted by skilled master trainers during the workshop. Earlier, the same programme was conducted at Bhandari sub-division under the leadership of SDO PHED, Bhandari, K. Hukato.
At Wokha, the training programme was chaired by (JE) Zuchamo Kikon while vote of thanks was proposed by JE PHED Wokha division, Chenithung Ezong.
