College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (CoVS&AH), Jalukie in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Peren conducted an awareness programme on Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) –cum -Animal Health Camp at Gaili village on August 11.
The programme was initiated under the guidance of the dean of Veterinary College, Jalukie, Dr. I Shakuntala Devi, considering the numbers of Lumpy Skin Disease suspected cases that were reported from various villages in and around Jalukie subdivision under Peren district.
The programme was chaired by Dr Keneisezo Kuotsu, Assistant Professor, CoVSc, Jalukie and lecture in regards to the disease was delivered by Dr. L. Babita Devi, CTO, KVK, Peren and Dr Sashitola Ozukum, Assistant Professor, CoVSc, Jalukie using various audio visual aids.
Assistant professor, CoVSc, Jalukie, Dr. Tukheswar Chutia coordinated the animal health camp along with interns of the college.
During the health camp a total of 286 animals were treated. Mineral mixture supplements, dewormers and essential medicines were also distributed under TSP, KVK, Peren.
