A six-day free cataract surgery with Intraocular Lens (IOL) implantation eye camp organised by District Health Society (DHS) Mon at District Hospital (DH) Mon culminated on February 17. A press release by National Health Mission (NHM) Mon stated that the surgery sponsored by National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB&VI) Nagaland was led by specialized eye doctors, consultant eye specialist, DH Wokha, Dr Phyantsuthung and eye specialist, Hezukhu Memorial DH Zunheboto, Wobenthung Tsopoe.
The medical team also consisted of Medemnochetla staff nurse, IMDH Mokokchung; Limasenla ANM IMDH Mokokchung; Limasungzung, ophthalmic assistant, DH Mon; Ngapsa T Konyak, ophthalmic assistant, Mon. During the eye camp, the medical team performed surgery on 56 major cases and one minor case with 299 OPD registration.
