District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Dimapur welcomed the new members at the monthly meeting held on September 24, 2024 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Tinojungshi Chang at DC’s conference hall, Dimapur.
The new members were: Zakabo V. Rotokha, ADC Dimapur, Nivizolie Meyase, District Education Officer and N. Stephen Ngullie, DPRO Dimapur.
Dr. Tinojungshi expressed hope that the district would witness significant progress with new officers. He also thanked the government for entrusting him with the chairmanship and expressed gratitude to all officers, and urged to continue their dedicated work, particularly in implementing centrally sponsored schemes for the welfare of the district.
He also highlighted the need to revive and promote the departmental sports activities in the district, and stressed the importance of sports in fostering camaraderie, physical fitness, and promote teamwork through sports. The initiative is expected to commence in the coming months with further details to be announced soon.
At the meeting, the board discussed on the agendas and recommended the proposal for opening a primary section of Riverlife Pre-School at Burma Camp; Opening of new school Arete Foundation School at Padumpukhuri Village, Dimapur; Upgradation of Government High School, Kushiabill to Government Higher Secondary School and Change of nomenclature of Community Education Centre School to Royal Knight School at Grace Colony Kuda (C Khel).
The board also recommended for registration of the Progressive Society, Bamunpukhuri-A, Block – 2 East Dimapur and Ematha Okho Welfare Society of Ekyoyan Village, Dimapur.
Kiyevi I Swu, ADS, Dimapur highlighted on the General Household (GHH) scheme, and urged the board members to disseminate the news to the public to avail the Scheme of outlining the eligibility criteria for the General Household (GHH) scheme under the Tide-over scheme.
The scheme targets citizens and indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland with an annual income above ₹2.50 lakhs who are not covered under the National Food Security’s AAY and PHH schemes.
The departments from Urban Development & Social Welfare department highlighted their activities through PowerPoint presentation. The PHED and Food & Civil Supplies will present their activities in the next DPDB meeting.
