Wakching Students’ Union Dimapur flays arrest of civilians

Wakching Students’ Union Dimapur (WSUD) has condemned the arrest of an innocent civilians by army personnel without evidence and demanded justice.

In a condemnation note, WSUD president Konnyei and general secretary, Wannyei said that the “egregious act” of the security forces has violated human rights, fundamental freedoms and the principle of justice.

Noting that the “unjustified detention of innocent civilians without due process is unacceptable”, the union urged the authorities to respect human rights, prevent such incidents and also extended solidarity with the victim’s family.
