Nagaland State Human Rights Commission (NSHRC) conducted an awareness programme on “Human Rights & the Role of Human Rights Commission in its Better Protection” at Jubilee Hall, Atoizu on March 1, 2025.
According to DIPR report, the event was graced by Justice Songkhupchung Serto, chairperson, NSHRC. Delivering keynote address, Justice Songkhupchung emphasized the importance of human rights awareness and the commission’s role in ensuring justice for the people. The event included an interactive session with GBs, CSOs, and officials from key departments like Medical, School Education, Social Welfare, and Food & Civil Supplies.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Atoizu, and commenced with a welcome address by Nukutulu S. Venuh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atoizu, while Pemei Konyak, Junior Section Officer, NSHRC briefed the gathering on the role of NSHRC in protecting human rights in Nagaland.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Kitoli Naje, chairperson, Atoizu Town Council, followed by field visit to Government High School, Public Health Centre and Police Station, Atoizu.
