Commemorating the 50th year of Zunheboto district (Golden Jubilee)-cum-Ahuna Festival, a night carnival was organised at District Sports Council Ground, Zunheboto.
Media Cell of Organising Committee, district golden jubilee informed that the carnival was graced by advisor of Land Resource Development, Ikuto Zhimomi as the inaugural function programme guest.
Speaking at the program, Ikuto Zhimomi lauded the NGOs, government department, civil societies, Self Help Groups, entrepreneurs, Church groups and individuals for taking part in the exhibition and night carnival even at the short notice.
He also lauded the “right decision” taken by the Jubilee Planning Board, Sumi Hoho along with legislatures of the district to combine Ahuna festival and district golden jubilee celebration as Ahuna festival was a part of tribal festival and with the support of State government it has become an annual event.
The advisor also said that celebration of jubilee was a rare event and therefore appreciated the efforts in making arrangements for combining the two events.
Ikuto further appealed to everyone to celebrate and observe the event and jubilee meaningfully in an orderly manner.
Earlier, the program was chaired by Mopling Phon EAC, dedicatory prayer by Nupato Zhimomi asst. youth leader ZTSBC.
