Teacher shortage at GMS Khukishe

Khukishe Village Students Union (KVSU) has once again raised concerns on the ongoing teacher shortage at GMS Khukishe, demanding immediate intervention from the Department of School Education, Nagaland.

In a press release, SMC chairman, Heshito Yeptho, head GB Hokishe Yeptho and KVSU president, Helika Yeptho, stated that despite a formal appeal submitted earlier to the Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) in Aghunato, Zunheboto district—preceded by a published notice in Nagaland Post on February 14, 2025—no corrective action has been taken.

They claimed that students at GMS Khukishe continue to struggle due to the absence of adequate teaching staff, significantly hindering their academic progress. The school authorities have managed temporary solutions, but the lack of permanent teachers remains a pressing issue.

Therefore, department of School Education, Kohima, has been urged to swiftly address the matter and ensure the appointment of the required staff for the students’ educational welfare.
