Konyak students’ Union (KSU) has endorsed unwavering support to the people of Tobu and Mopong areas in demanding for setting up of SBI at Tobu ADC Hq to facilitate banking system in remote areas.
KSU in a press release by vice president Senpha Wangnao and assistant general secretary, Hamshen Konyak stated that the demand was genuine as the region was facing immeasurable hardship due to non availability of banking facility.
While pointing out that Mon district comprise of 2.5 Lakhs population approximately with least number of banks, KSU stated that existing banks were enough to provide yeoman service to the entire population.
KSU stated that the region covers the administrative areas such as Tobu ADC Hq, Munyakshu SDO Civil Hq and Mopong EAC Hq, making it imperative for establishment of SBI branch at Tobu.
KSU therefore fervently appealed the state government and the concern authority to uphold the matter seriously and fulfil the utmost desires of the Mon people at the earliest.
