ATEGBC bans sale of liquor in its jurisdiction

Adivasi Tea Estate Gaon Borlengri Council (ATEGBC) has informed that it has banned sale of liquor within its jurisdiction and warned of stern action against those persons indulging in this “banned business”. 
A press release issued by ATEGBC chairman Kazheto Zhimo claimed that “taking advantage of existing prohibition in Nagaland” many people residing on Assam side i.e. Adivasi Tea Estate Gaon Borlengri which is in close proximity with Notun Bosti and LRC Colony Dimapur have started liquor business.
To curb the same, the council said Adivasi Tea Estate Gaon Borlengri women society with “strong support” from the youth, village council and the public resolved to ban sale of liquor within the village jurisdiction. 
The release stated that on “countless occasions” huge quantities of assorted liquor were seized and destroyed in the village.
