DC Phek notice to printing press

To ensure maintaining correct expenditure by the political parties/candidates and to ensure conduct of free and fair elections, deputy commissioner, Phek, Nikhashe Sema has issued notification to printing press in Phek district.

In a notification, DC has informed all printing press under Phek district not to print election pamphlet or poster unless accompanied by a declaration on the identity of the publisher duly signed and attested by two persons personally known to him/her and to be delivered to the printer in duplicate.

It also informed that the documents printed should bears the name and address of the printer and that a sample copy of the document with the copy of declaration of the publisher identity to the press owner should be submitted to the District Election Officer in prescribed format.

Printing of hand bill/placard or poster merely for announcing the date/time and place of an election meeting or routine instructions to election agents or workers would not be included in the above specifications, the notification stated.

Further, DC has warned that any printing press found violating the notification would be liable for punishment with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may be extended to 2000 or both.
