Lena Dunham has listed the help of some celebrity friends to encourage women to vote for politicians who care about reproductive rights in the upcoming midterm election. Amy Poehler, Ellen Page, America Ferrera, Gabrielle Union, Sara Bareilles, Mindy Kaling and Leslie Mann are among those who wear a pink shirt featuring a message “Lena (Hearts) Planned Parenthood.”
Dunham and Planned Parenthood Action Fund are collaborating for Women Are Watching Campaign to support the cause. While her friends are photographed wearing the T-shirt, sold at $25, the “Girls” creator opted not to wear it in a photo she shared on Thursday (October 30). “We hear a lot about how apathetic our millennial youth are, but that just hasn’t been my experience. My friends, as well as the young women I met on my book tour who are friends now too, have so much joy, anger, hunger for change,” Dunham told Glamour.
