Forest deptt. organizes awareness prog in Kikruma

Awareness programme on protection of Amur Falcon and wildlife was held September 25 at Kikruma village organized by Phek Forest Division (PFD).
At the programme, district forest officer (DFO) Phek Rongsenlemla Imchen highlighted the effort undertaken by the department in collaboration with the village community in protection of Amur Falcon.
She also acknowledged the proactive response of the district administration and the police with regard to protection and conservation of wildlife. DF said assistance of law enforcing agencies was indispensable to any conservation effort under taken by the department.
Meanwhile, Kikruma village chairman gave a brief overview about the initiative carried out by the community in coordination with forest department.
Also, speaking at the programme, chief wild life warden Nagaland S P Tripati urged the people to continue this conservation effort for posterity. ADC Pfutsero T Nchumbemo Odyuo assured fullest cooperation from district administration to protect forests and wildlife.
The programme was attended by officers from district administration, police department, VCM, Church workers, local functionaries, GBs, Dobashis, student union, women society, and NGOs.
