‘NPF is choice before the people’

February 9, 2013 | by admin

Starting its campaign in Dimapur and its adjoining area, Naga People’s Front (NPF) president, Dr. Shürhozelie Friday said that the choice before the people was between the NPF which has a consistent political stand and stable leadership and the Congress which was “confused, inconsistent and divided.”

Speaking to the party workers and supporters at Old Council Hall, Chumkedima Town, in Tenyidie, which was translated into Nagamese by NPF general secretary (central), Shuya, Shürhozelie who was campaigning for NPF candidate from 4 Ghaspani-I– Khekiho Zhimomi said that election was a time of “confusion” and added that whether “happy or not” till Naga solution was brought, election would be held.

Declaring his full confidence that NPF would form the government for the third time, Shürhozelie said the “Cock party” since its inception has been voicing for a solution to the Naga political issue and urged all to ponder upon why it was not settled till date.

Also claiming that there was no one to replace the NPF, the NPF president said the opposition Congress has a leadership crisis and was a divided house.

Shürhozelie predicted that even if the Congress managed to win an absolute majority, there still would be “fight” between elected legislators and they would not be able to form the government.

Later in the afternoon, Dr. Shürhozelie also addressed another campaign for the NPF candidate from 3 Dimapur-III, Azheto Zhimomi at Selouphe public ground.

The intending NPF candidate from 4 Ghaspani-I A/C, Khekiho Zhimomi, who also spoke at the campaign expressed optimism that people would acknowledge NPF was designed for the future of the Nagas.

Urging the people of the constituency to support him, Khekiho said he had a vision to let the denizens of Dimapur live in peace and harmony as one family and added that apart from development, his main priority would be the social front in order to bring harmony between people.
