A mobile check post of 29 Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of HQ 6 Sect AR apprehended one NSCN (I-M) cadre while he was moving in vehicle with a bag in general area Dhansiripar on May 5.
According to a press release by AR, the cadre tried to flee with the bag but was followed and quickly nabbed by the troops. On carrying out a thorough search, an amount of Rs. 3,01,000 and incriminating documents related to extortion were recovered from the cadre who has been identified as Suneb Ao (34), resident of Mokokchung dist. The individual revealed that he was working for NSCN (I-M) in the rank of “Cpl” and was tasked to collect the money from Super Market area. He along with recovered items was later handed over to the sub-urban police station, Dimapur.
