Fire brigades of Kohima saved tea garden belonging to Chiechama village some 14 kms away from the state capital Sunday morning.
According to the fire department, on receiving the information 2 fire tenders and 2 bikes rushed towards Chiechama village and doused off the fire where large areas of jungle were burnt.
However, fire tenders prevented the fire from spreading it to tea garden located between Botsa and Chiechama. The cause of fire and size of the area (jungle) burnt could not be ascertained till filing of this report.
