Azo graces CYF conference in Phek

Minister for roads & bridges Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu on November 14 graced the 8th general conference of the Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) held at Phek village under the theme Biodiversity conservation for economic goods.

Speaking on the occasion, Azo lauded CYF for taking up biodiversity conservation as one of its major activities within the Chakhesang inhabited areas.

Urging the gathering to preserve nature, forest and wildlife, the minister said 30 to 40 years from today human survival would depend on the area of reserved forest.

To this, he called upon the people to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. “Let us be a part of the solution for peace, unity, to save nature, to save wildlife, to save biodiversity, to save ecology, to save our birds”, he said and hoped such things would continue even in the days to come so that the planet earth can b saved.

Appreciating CYF for always protecting Chakhesangs interest, he said one should protect his/her interest but more important thing was while trying to protect one’s interest one should not encroach on other’s interest, or other communities or other tribes and hurt their feelings.

He asserted that the more important thing for Nagas was to create peace, unity and reconciliation and to build the youth on all fronts.

He urged CYF to tie-up with Chakhesang Students Union (CSU), Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) and legislators and other leaders and start identifying in which area the youth was good at.
Azo also called upon the youth to have faith in God and be committed to excel in life.

“Only committed persons can shine”, the minister said. As an act of no more rearing of birds in cage by any individual within the Chakhesang inhabited areas, the minister including parliamentary secretary for higher education and SCERT Deo Nukhu, CPO president Sovenyi, Phek deputy commission Neposo, CYF president Zhopayi Nakro and CSU president Thupukutho Lohe released some birds.

Lozaphuhu, Zhavame and Sakraba village was conferred with ‘Biodiversity Award 2013’ during the two-day conference which concluded November 14.
