Soybean oil processing unit sponsored by AICRP-Soybean TSP was inaugurated by Dean, NU: SASRD, Medziphema, Professor R. C. Gupta here on Tuesday at Padumpukhuri village, Dimapur. In a brief inaugural programme, R.C.Gupta said it was a boon for the farmers of the state as the processing unit could not only process soybean, but could also efficiently process 36 different types of oilseeds.
He said that the cracker machine could also efficiently process different cereals, spices and oilseeds. Programme officer, AICP-Soybean TSP, NU: SASRD, Dr. L.Tongpang Longkumer informed that unit was formally handed over to Molunglem SHG of Padumpukhuri village, Dimapur after signing an undertaking by all women SHG. He also said that processing unit comprises of a soybean cracker machine and oil expeller with filter and broiler. Earlier, the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by associate pastor women, Ao Baptist Church Padumpukhuri (ABCP), Alemla. The programme was chaired by scientist in-charge, AICRP on soybean, Dr.A.K.Singh, while short speeches were delivered by village council chairman, Padumpukhuri and Molunglem SHG; vote of thanks was proposed by scientist, AICRP on Soybean, Dr.Engrala.
