Home Minister Imkong L Imchen today admitted that there is time delay in the implementation of the recommendation of the Inter District Boundary Committee due to objection raised by the Zeliangrong Baudi but assures to look into the matter.
Replying to a starred question raised by opposition leader Tokheho, the Home Minister admitted that the state government had set up inter-district boundary demarcation committee between the then Kohima and Dimapur districts and the committee had submitted its recommendation.
The Government conveyed the approval of the recommendation to Inter District Boundary Committee between Kohima and Dimapur. However, the approval was not followed up with any notification by the Government, due to the objection raised by the Zeliangrong Baudi.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Tokheho while raising supplementary question pointed out that the IDBC had submitted its report in September 2003 but because of the objection raised by the Zeliangrong Baudi, the problem was kept unattended for years together. He also stressed that if there is objection government should try to listen to the grievances of the Zeliangrong Baudi and resolved the problem. “It is the duty of the government”, he added.
