
Weekend missionary activity comprising of 57 members from Catholic community of Chessore undertook the “mission walk 2016”, walking a distance of 12 Kms to and fro between Chessore and Huker villages praying for the restoration of the road and reaching out to Huker villagers.
A press note by GB Chessore village, Chikum stated that this road is the life-line for Chessore but neglected for years. Dozens of requests and protests at various levels were yet to see a glimpse of positive response, stated the release. It stated that during the walk the group had visited a few sick people who were left to chance because they cannot afford a treatment taking the patient across the miserable road.
The leader recollected to the prayer gathering at Huker village that the said distance of road has 6 Churches.
Pursing the congregation for continued prayers for the leaders of the area, he exhorted the people to seek “merciful benevolence of God upon the area,” by inspiring the responsible people to be dutiful, each in their own realm. The group members included children, teenagers, youths and elders.
