Combined NCC camp inaugurated in Mkg

Combined annual training camp for NCC cadets of NCC group Kohima commenced on October 10 at CRPF camp in DEF complex near Mokokchung.

The camp, being organized by 25 Nagaland (Independent) company NCC located at Mokokchung would be held till October 19.

Cadets, both boys and girls, from various schools and colleges of the state are participating in the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Muroho Chotso, deputy commissioner Mokokchung on October 11.

Speaking on the occasion, DC expressed great pleasure in seeing such a large gathering of well disciplined and enthusiastic cadets, both boys and girls.

This, he said was a reflection of their commitment to lead a disciplined way of life and their desire to contribute to the society.  He stressed on the importance of discipline in each person’s life and added that it was the bedrock on which progress of any society and the country as a whole depended.

He reminded them that they were the future of the country and their parents too harbour high hopes about them succeeding in life.

While he exhorted the cadets to derive maximum benefits from varied opportunities offered by NCC, he also emphasised on the importance of doing well in academics.

He pointed out to the cadets that as they have come from all regions of the state, the camp was an ideal opportunity for them to learn about each other and take back good memories. He hoped the cadets would train hard during the ten-day camp and wished them a happy and memorable stay at Mokokchung.

Earlier, in his welcome address camp commandant Col G Vinod welcomed the chief guest, NCC officers and cadets, and thanked the district administration for providing all possible assistance for the smooth conduct of the camp.

He also expressed his gratitude to 78 CRPF Battalion for providing their camp area to conduct the camp and 31 Assam Rifles for their invaluable help in organising the camp.

He further added that the administrations of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung and Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School Mokokchung too had extended material support for the camp.

He apprised the cadets that the major aims of the camp was to give them an exposure in communal living and carry out collective training on various subjects covered during their institutional training. He hoped the cadets would take utmost interest and participate in all activities with enthusiasm.
