Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DDPDB) celebrated its advent Christmas Tuesday at Green Park, Dimapur, with MLA and chairman, DPDB, and advisor, sericulture and cooperation, Azheto Zhimomi, and former chief minister and MLA, K.L Chishi.
Azheto while speaking to members of DPDB and officers representing various departments in its last meeting said that during the year, Dimapur had witnessed many turn of events, some of which were unpleasant and difficult, but he added that Nagas had overcome the difficult situations.
Adding that despite many challenges lying ahead, there was hope within their heart to face “tomorrow” with courage for which he enthused the gathering that it was the strength of the society.Speaking before the DPDB members, K.L Chishi, said that since members were from different communities they should also inculcate that religion or religious practices to every individual spiritually.
Urging DPDB members that they were also working for the people, he encouraged them to execute their duties as true Christians irrespective of any religious sections.
The programme chaired by deputy commissioner Dimapur, N. Hushili Sema, started with an invocation and scripture reading by chief medical officer, Dimapur, Dr. Sukato Sema, special numbers were presented by Chumyani Ovung, revenue officer, Dimapur, Henok Buchem, Manchai Phom, ATMA members, while the gathering were enthralled by a comedy presented by Chuchang and Purnüken a.k.a ‘Born Again’.
