The annual general conference of the All Sumi Students Union (SKK) will be hosted by the Phisami Village under Kiphire district.
The conference would be held from January 31 to February 3. Talking to this correspondent, former president of Phisami Village Students’ Union stated the shortest route from other districts to the host village(Phisami village) is through Aghunato town via Huker village.
He however lamented that the village shortest route which connects other districts i.e Aghunato town via Huker village is now in deplorable condition which has been cut off since 2003.
He further mentioned that the P.M packages/funds for the road maintenance and improvement of road quality was fully paid to the contractors but the road condition has been worsen.
He also expressed anguish over the authorities’ negligence where the village is being deprived of drinking water supply till date, though it is a historic village and the largest Sumi village in Kiphere district.
It may be mentioned that Phisami village is popularly known as the last village of head hunters. It is also regarded as the BSF post, one of the oldest area where the Indian army had set up its base past 4 decades ago.
