Lt Gen A K Sahni, SM, VSM, GOC 3 CORPS has conveyed Republic Day greetings to all the ranks of the Indian Army, ex-servicemen, families and the people of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura.
Sahni, in a defence release, urged all to resolve together to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in the constitution of India and to work unitedly in making the country stronger and more prosperous.
He further appealed to all insurgent groups in the north east to give up violence and to come to the negotiating table and resolve their grievances through dialogue.
Sahni also applauded the northeastern states for their cooperation in all spheres and assured them that the army was for the people and that it will continue to be people friendly in all spheres.
Lt Gen A K Sahni further paid homage to all heroes and martyrs, who laid their lives for the nation.
