Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung presented awards to Block Level Best Organized Farmer’s Group & Block Level Best Farmer for 2011-12 on January 26.
The award was given to felicitate farmers for their outstanding contribution and success made in the field of agriculture and allied sectors thereby encouraging the farmers to strive further towards economic progress.
This year, farmer’s award was presented to six individual farmers and six farmers group during a programme held in commemoration of the Republic Day at Imkongmeren Sports Complex Mokokchung.
The chief guest of the programme, M.C. Konyak, minister for forest and excise gave away the awards to the farmers.
On behalf of the awardees, Ngangshikaba, recipient of the best individual farmer under Changtongya block thanked ATMA, Mokokchung for making an attempt to recognize the efforts made by the farmers towards progressive and sustainable agriculture.
He also requested ATMA team to further take up such initiatives to encourage farmers to do well in future.
