New executive body of Gorkha Union Mokokchung (GUM) has been installed on January 27 at its office which was followed by oath taking and handing and taking over function.
Prakash Aley, who was re-elected as president of the union for the second consecutive term, in his speech, thanked the outgoing members for their cooperation and contributions made towards the welfare of the community in Mokokchung in particular and the public of the town in general.
He also urged the new members to contribute in such a way that the aspirations of the community were fulfilled and to work towards building a good rapport with other communities of the town.
Meanwhile, the new team include – Kamal Rai (secretary), Ranbir Thapa (treasurer), Bishnu Thapa (finance secretary), Lal Bahadur (welfare secretary), Prahlad Gurung (cultural secretary) and Naresh Rai (information and publicity secretary).
Shyam Chetri, B.R Subba, Vivek Rai, Ganesh, Bhoj Bahadur, Man Bahadur, Sanjay, Ramesh Rai, Padam, Rabi, Sonar, Nokul, Gajen, and Bisman were installed as executive members.
