Garbage crisis in Hong Kong market

The garbage crisis faced by the city has been in the news for a variety of reasons and had its impact on various areas as well as business establishments.

Shopkeepers in Hong Kong Market, one of the busiest markets in Dimapur Town say that the situation worsened in the last few days especially during election as garbages were left unattended for many days.

Further, shopkeepers fear that if this trend continues, then they would lose customers for fear of contracting vector-borne diseases.

One of the shop keepers also said that the unhygienic condition, damp condition coupled with pilled garbage outside obstruct customers from moving freely.

Though Hong Kong Market is one of the leading shopping centers for locals, the piled up garbage is cleared once a day or sometimes lies unattended for days together.

It is not just the shopkeepers, but thousands of shoppers who are at stake due to unhygienic condition in the shopping area.
