The 25th annual sports meet of Pilgrim School, Kuda B village, Dimapur got underway on the theme ‘Sports for Unity’.
The opening ceremony was graced by Col. Kanwar Vikram Singh, 29th Assam Rifle as chief guest. The programme began with a welcome note by Bithungo Kikon, school administrator, followed by flag hoisting, march past by four different houses: pink, green, purple and yellow, NCC contingent and school band party.
The chief guest, in his speech spoke about the potential that lies in the children and youth, far and across the nation, and urged them to uphold the same through sports.
School NCC troops under No 1 (NL) Air Squadron displayed drill and the school teakwondo team also presented their skills. The programme was attended by school board members, founder of the institution, M. Kikon and wife, special invitees and parents.
