Nagaland Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has informed that a “field campaign meeting” as a part of Public Awareness Creation Efforts (PACE) would be held on March 13 at 9:30 a.m. in PBCA Headquarters, Longleng.
In a statement, secretary NERC, Kohima said the meeting has been sponsored by Phom People’s Council (PPC) and Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA). DC Longleng Libangthung Lotha who is also chairperson of Longleng district coordination committee on power would give the “preludial address” while Er. S. I. Longkumer, former NERC chairman-cum-member would coordinate the course of the meeting. NERC said an important resolution was adopted by the State Advisory Committee (SAC) of NERC advising action by the commission on the creation of public awareness on power sector in the state.
The resolution adopted on November 23, 2012 had advised NERC to approach Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and other apex/tribal church organisations in the state to extend their “moral and physical support” in all possible ways in the pursuit of the public awareness.
