CSU on shortage of teachers

As a follow-up action of the educational tour conducted during October 8 to November 3, 2012, Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), the tribal students’ apex organization convened a joint consultative meeting with district education officer (DEO) and child development project officer (CDPO) on March 7 at CSU conference hall h.q Phek.

The meeting held serious deliberations on shortage of teachers and pre-primary (PP) class problems.

CSU president Thupukutho Lohe and general secretary Seve Vadeo stated that under RTE Act, PP class was excluded from Government Primary Schools whereby PP students are now at a loss due to Anganwadi Centres failing to function satisfactorily. 

CSU in the meeting, urged both the departments for early redressal of the problem in the initial phase of the current academic session.

The student body and the education officer further deliberated on the problem of shortage of teachers in almost all government schools which are a major threat to the future of the younger generation.

Meanwhile, CSU sought support and co-operation from to the two departments for the best interest of the student community and the younger generation.
